Another crossover...? (EDIT)If its the latter, well, it can only mean three things:
1. Another Mario and Sonic title slated for next year, as voices are usually done before actual development starts.
2. Sonic & Megaman/SEGA vs Capcom, as was rumored during TGS '08.
3. Sonic & Klonoa, given the endings of the last two Sonic games. Though, why Silver would be in a crossover with Klonoa is beyond me... O_o; But crossovers are always non-canon, so...hm.
You know me on this: I REALLY hope its the third option. And if they just started on it now, then so be it: one year of waiting for my dream to come true... But if it isn't, meh.
EDIT: Alright, since a lot of people, not just here on DA, seem to think the collab is just the Winter Olympics...
No, I really do not think its the Winter Olympics. According to IGN, development on it began immediately after the first game was released, which was in late 2007. Silver's VA could've done his voice work for it around that time or in 2008, not last week. And plus, the game was announced back in February or March. I'm sure he would've known about it by now.
I don't think its Chronicles 2 either. Unless its not for the DS (which I doubt because Bioware's currently working on a couple of major console titles), I don't expect any major voice acting going on in it because of the hardware. And I doubt its another SEGA Superstars title as well. (Seriously, I can't find anybody online on Superstars Tennis, so it must've sold poorly...)
So its either one of the three above, which are all likely to me, or another developer is trying its own shot at a Sonic game.

I know that the whole "best friend who saves the world and departs afterward" thing has definitely been done before, but...seeing Chip's necklace heavily resemble Klonoa's Wind Ring makes me think SEGA got the whole idea from Namco.
Klonoa 2's plot and the sorrow theme with it in combination, I've never seen anything like it before. And to see SatBK copy it makes me think even more that either SEGA is heavily aware of the Klonoa franchise or they're secretly planning to do a crossover with it.
And its two games with obvious Klonoa references in a row that are making me think that its the latter. If they came up with a different plot structure in either one of the games, I wouldn't be thinking this way now. o_o

Another likely possibility, which also fits the "collab" bit, is that it is for Sonic Chronicles 2.
There could be other things that could qualify... another Sega Allstars Tennis type game perhaps? Who knows?
But the only thing I can say with certainty, despite how much I would like it to happen, is that it will NOT be a Sonic/Klonoa Crossover...

It could also be a Sonic Rush title... Sonic Team isn't usually directly involved in making those either(DIMPS did the Rush series), so that could be considered a collab... but again, I dunno. Those were just the most likely candidates I could think up. With the exception of Winter Games and the potentiality of Chronicles 2, I haven't heard squat from the Sonic bandwagon about any new games since Black Knight hit shelves... so I've got no clue what they're planning next. It could be another Sonic Riders title for all we know... XP
